Welcome!

The ED Institute 2022 invites individuals newer to educational development (or those looking for a refresher—the door is open to all!) to engage with various aspects of the profession(s) across four weeks of synchronous sessions (90 minutes) accompanied by asynchronous learning (60 minutes). The weekly topics and synchronous Zoom sessions are listed in the table below. Register for each session via the Eventbrite link. There is no cost to participate. ED Institute 2022 Technology Requirements

We are committed to making our workshops as accessible and barrier-free as possible. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs or require accommodations to participate. To facilitate this, here are the tools we will be using during some of the workshops:

Zoom

Mentimeter

  • Mentimeter is an online polling tool that uses short, typed responses. We will use Mentimeter during some sessions for warm-up and wrap-up.
  • How it works: we will share the following link during the workshop (https://www.menti.com) along with a code that will give participants access to the polling session and prompts for typed question responses.
  • Note on data privacy: Mentimeter stores data outside of Canada, and we will encourage people who do not wish to use the tool for privacy reasons to share their responses to session questions in the chat (privately or other).

Padlet

  • We will use padlet (https://www.padlet.com) to gather response to pre-workshop material and thought prompts before each session.
  • Note on data privacy: Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to use the tool for privacy reasons, you can send responses to the ED Institute coordinator who can upload the responses on your behalf.
  • Please note that all responses are anonymous unless you are logged into your personal Padlet account or choose to include your name within the response itself.
  • Click the white circle “+” button on the bottom of each column to add your contributions.

How do I receive an ED Institute certificate?

At the conclusion of the Institute, we will reach out to every participant who attended three (3) or more sessions with the ED Institute Certificate of Participation.
